The girls made self-portraits during their very first week in 2nd class. We are all looking forward to a great year ahead!
Autumn Handprint Trees
The girls really enjoyed learning about pointillism. They were very proud of how their autumn trees turned out!
We had some great fun in Room 9 learning about the primary colours and the colour wheel.
We had some great fun during maths week! The girls worked as a team in their groups for our maths quiz and we also played bingo. There were a lot of girls shouting 'Bingo!'
Ms McKinley & Ms Nerney also dropped in for a visit too! We all had some great fun before our Halloween holidays.
Our Prayer Space for the month of November. We are remembering all our loved ones who have passed away.
We had a lovely visit from Fr Paul and we showed him all our hard work.
The 2nd class girls will be preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation in the coming weeks.
We got very creative in Room 9 for art this week as the girls made monsters using clay.
Don't they look brilliant?
The girls came up with many different ways to show kindness everyday. We made a very special display for outside our classroom to celebrate 'World Kindness Day.'
We completed different experiments as part of science week.
We tried to make some raisins dance using sparkling water.
We also carried out the 'Skittles Experiment.'
We had some great fun with this one!

It was a thumbs up from all in Room 9!
We all felt very warm and cosy in our 'Winter Woolies.'

We went outside for a lap of the school in our 'Winter Woolies' as part of our Active Advent Challenge.
We all had such great fun!
We have been exploring the theme of 'Homes' this past week so the girls brought in a cereal box and other recycled materials.
They created their own 'Room in a Box' using lots of different materials.
It took the girls a lot of time, patience and double sided sticky tape but they didn't give up!
I think we will have a lot of engineers, architects & home designers in this class in the future!
Don't they look fantastic? What an excellent way to re-use recycled materials!
The girls were delighted with all their hard work and were really looking forward to bringing them home.
The girls have been very busy in Room 9 getting ready for Christmas! We all got creative and designed our classroom door - 'Oh Deer!'

We decorated our own Christmas jumpers for our classroom.
A little look inside our classroom for Christmas!

Keep an eye out for 2nd Class - Room 9!
Happy Christmas!
We read David Walliams book - 'Geronimo' and this inspired us to make and design our own penguins.
The girls first got creative and painted the backgrounds for their penguins using paint and wet sponges. They then designed their own penguin.
The girls loved how everyone used the exact same art materials but all of the penguins look completely different.
