Post office, decorating the North Pole, making Christmas cards; Christmas is in full swing.
In room 17, we are trialing the school's new ipads. One group used them at the end of their literacy stations each day. We are practicing our letter formation and letter recognition at the minute. It is great fun.
Today we had a visit from a Garda. He told us all about his job. He let us try on some of his uniform.
We started our wordless Oxford Reading Tree books this week. It is great fun making up the stories to go with the pictures. We had fun reading to our partners and then listening to their story.
We looked at how to make patterns this week using some of our maths equipment.
We had great fun for Halloween.
We dressed up, bobbed for apples, tasted brack looking for rings, musical statues and watch spooky cartoons.
The 6th class brought us on a witch walk around the school listening to spooky music.
This week we were learning about rough and smooth. We examined items in the classroom, items from nature (turf, rocks etc) and baby books with different textures.
We went for a walk to check for signs of Autumn. We found loads of leaves and shells off beech seeds and conkers. We collected loads of leaves for our leaf rubbing art.
We are learning all about the signs of Autumn and things that happen in Autumn. We have been exploring some nature, e.g autumn leaves, harvesting conkers, examining loads of different types of pumpkins. We are all excited about Halloween.
We started football with Aaron a couple of weeks ago. He is teaching us lots of fun team games to play using footballs and bean bags. We are really enjoying it.
We started Gymnastics with Kat. It is great fun.
We have been learning loads of nursery rhymes. We made our own Humpty Dumpty Men.

We really enjoyed the story of the Gingerbread Man. When he ran away and sang his song was the best part. We got to make our own Gingerbread Men too.
